Thanks for the education. Still, "anti-gay-agenda" has nothing to do with "homophobia" IMO.

(I know of no religion which condemns homosexual persons as such, though Islam might; I think the more general approach is to "hate the sin but live the sinner") is, IMO, not only inaccurate but fundamentally (and intentionally) dishonest.

Islam views it in a similar way as Christianity. Sort of. Any sexual urges that are not consistant with heterosexual bonding and allowed under the rights of marriage are considered deviant. The fact that homosexual urges exist for people is treated the same way as the fact that you (a heterosexual, I presume) have sexual attractions to women you have been given no rights to. Its not wrong to be attracted; that is the nature you were given. The test (Islam is always thought of as a test on your soul) for you is whether or not you act on the forbidden impulses. If you act on things forbidden, you have sinned against your soul. Homosexual acts are forbidden in Islam but it is understood that some people have such attractions and they are not to be hated for it. The oft refered to covering that is common with Islamic women is considered a protection from the eyes of lesbian women as well as from men who are not in their family.
