Hi Steve Lee; Here's what you were saying a year ago, LOL!!!

Steve Lee, Aug 17,2000
"Sounds to me like even Sherry Garber is realising she has been wrong and is now starting to sit on the fence ready to accept that RMBS does own high speed memory. Will Bilow and Scumbria be next, or will they just disappear when the inevitable happens." #reply-14227709

"All you are seeing is proof that DDR uses features of RDRAM to attempt to challenge its performance and stability. However, DDR is only using some of the features and therefore only has potential as a short term stepping stone to RDRAM, while RDRAM densities and production are ramped." #reply-14228069

"... By the time DDR comes out (if), the system board cost will be on a par with boards featuring multiple RDRAM channels, so the bandwidth per cost of DDR will be higher." #reply-14228159

""All public facts lead us to believe that Intel is going to cut RMBS loose any day" They might lead u to believe that but they don't lead us to believe that. Speak for yerself dummy ! The real situation will become apparent soon and one of us will look pretty stupid. (And it won't be me)" #reply-14232892

Hi Steve Lee; <font color=red>DDR to reach 10% of market by end of year. Here's Samsung's recent production figures (in units):

Date RDRAM DDR
------------ ------- -------
Jul 9, 2001 20%~25% 10%~15%
Aug 8, 2001 18%~20% 10%~17%

samsungelectronics.com

July figures from #reply-16113364

In addition, Samsung just announced that they're putting 20% of their production into DDR SDRAM by the end of the year. Since Samsung has about 60% of the world market in RDRAM, and about 40% in DDR, the above figures allow us to estimate total world production of the two memory types, given that we know that Samsung has about 20% of world memory production:

Date RDRAM DDR
------------ ------- -------
Jul 9, 2001 7%~ 8% 5%~ 7%
Aug 8, 2001 6%~ 7% 5%~ 8%
Dec 31, 2001 10%

The above figures are production figures, and are, of course, in units. Sales figures will show RDRAM at a higher percentage, due to the expensive niche status of RDRAM.
