I am not betting against it, but I sure am not betting strongly on it. If we rally and lots of calls are bought, we are going down and down hard later IMHO.

I couldn't agree with you more. Looking at the weekly charts of a number of large companies, I'm seeing that the March 2000 bubble hasn't even nearly been matched by a corresponding state of being oversold at the bottom. (For this I'm looking mainly at the RSI.) Many have, but others (sebl and beas are the first 2 that come to mind) have not.

OTOH, I also don't see them heading straight down from here. More likely, IMO, is a nearterm rally which will alleviate the current oversold condition of the market, and a return to the lows at a later date.

But then, I could also be wrong....
