That may be a flaw in your logic. If you'll recall, Intel spent a lot of effort in perfecting the cooling solution for the Pentium 4 to last well into the 2GHz range. AMD still has not changed their cooling solution from when the Tbird was first launched. IIRC, they mostly rely on 3rd parties these days.
