Can't see anything to be gained by studying Pasminco.... are you suggesting that Pasminco is typical ?

However, there is an interesting situation in Teck/Cominco, which only recently became a base-metals company simply by the stroke of a pen.... it was transferred from the TSE/SP Gold and Precious Metals index to the Metals and Minerals index. I have feeling that it was this impending move that caused the precipitous drop in the price of the stock. Who wants to hold something in the Metals and Minerals Index ? (Certainly not the Gold and Precious Metals Funds ).

And yet Teck's very nice gold holdings remain. Oh yes ! They include Gold assets in Australia that are heavily hedged in Aussie dollar terms. Haha !
