There's half of me that says "yes, brother, let's do it." There's another half that says "these are people, too, and they have made mistakes, serious mistakes, but we can't just throw them out like spoiled fish." I'm not sure which half is going to win. Then there's the question, how do we ever get this idea off the ground and get it to fly? Maybe if we start out proposing it purely as an alternative to the death penalty for people on death row, they can choose to stay on death row or can choose exile. Their pick. Would banishment be more cruel than death?
