I think MCD can be a big winner in 2002... The Mad Cow scare should be out of the way, leaving easy year over year comparisons... Also, the declining dollar should boost their overseas bottom line...

As for real interest rates, I agree that a deflationary atmosphere tends to negatively impact the equity of borrowed money when compared to declining collateral value... Also, it can be argued, that the spread between mortgage rates and the Fed Funds rate is too large for this low inflationary environment... That would also suggest another form of high real interest rates...

When your trading low volume stocks, such as MAGS, how the heck to you get in and out? Especially with the amount of shares you buy (I assume about 50K or more) I typically stick with the high volume guys so there is someone there to buy from or sell to that isn't 10% away from the current price.
