Hey Zeus, 200 years from now do you think the world will be out of energy or oil. How about a thousand years from now. I doubt it. The only variable is how and when the natural transistion will take place.

As for water in California - hey - as long as you guys water the desert you have not faced reality. As far as market pricing limiting growth of California - housing prices are doing a good job of that already. At some point market pricing will cause people to live somewhere else.

You can either allocate by government fiat or by markets. Fiat has a limited term that it works. Witness the fall of the USSR.
