OT~~~~~~~ Technology and Fishing

I bought a GPS with a moving map and was explaining to a friend how fishing has changed.

A boat is equipped with radar, GPS, Smart trolling motors and Smart downriggers. It is possible to pre program the path and speed of the boat to the site you wish to go fishing. When the boat gets there by GPS the computer lowers the dowriggers to the preprogrammed depths and the boat travel the prescribed course and speed adjusting the downriggers to depth or to avoid underwater hazards. The radar unit monitors traffic and can provide collision alerts or alter the course of the boat to prevent a collision.

It is the same with flying or driving a car cross country.

You can still take a cane pole down to the lake and drown worms but it is interesting what can be done.

Amazing!

those interconnections WILL hapen in our lifetime for sure...they werent "kicked out" as you suggest.....the problem was the stock bubble and the attendant excessses....booms and bust are an historical fact,a function of human nature, this one just happens to have been the biggest bubble in history...and will have unhappy consequences...which have only just begun....but the march of technology will continue.whether one should invest in that though is an entirely different question.
