Who said anything about exploding to 12 inch? You may know semiconductors but your reading comprehension could use some work.

Fairchild still makes 4 inch wafers, but I'm sure that with all your experience you already knew that.

The money will be made in 12 inch as more 12 inch fabs open, and to a lesser extent 8 inch, going forward. The yields will force out the 6 and 4 inch players or relegate them to niche products. Unfortunately the much higher yields will cause margins to erode, as the memory industry is finding out.
