On taking a quick look at LMNE its P/S ratio is about the same as JDSU's so I guess its not cheap either. But if it is more focused in the metro area and if it has a competitive advantage there it could be a better investment. I don't know enough about the company to tell (basically my entire some of information about LMNE is from your post or SIs quote, profile, and financials pages.

JDSU is sure the biggest optical component company. But strangely enough, it is not that cheap. Long term I like LMNE more. It is also pure component but it is concentrated on the Metro area (kinda like the last mile) which is still very under developed. There is a lot of dark fiber (unutilized capacity) waiting for customer. I think optic guys in the back bone area will have a much slower recovery.

Mani, this is a Noam Lotan company. You know he doesn't belive in making a profit. Probably has great technology but will still below $5 so long as it doesn't make money.....until, of course, the next bubble. ;~))

What is he doing with all the money?
