I believe you CH!!! My law prof said the same thing basically that you go there (res ipsa) only if you've got nothing else. I never realized what an apt statement that was until this afternoon...

I see that JLA says his law school professor said the same thing about res ipsa loqitur, so maybe it's a thing they say. I retract my disbelief and apologize.

I wouldn't have used the word 'liar' in any case, for what would have been SO in the 'white lie' category.

But still, I believe it now, and do apologize.
