When you have over 200 million people in a society there's always going to be poor and uneducated.Don't you think it's a curse to grow up a minority member in the ghetto?...if you had been born to a poor family(possibly single parent)in the inner city,do you think you would have transcended into the middle class?...what are we to do with these people...they need government help because the private sector has moved to the suburbs of these cities.

"where in the Constitution does it say that I have to give my money to the government for socialist programs? ".....where in the Constitution does it say I have to give Big Oil tax benefits or subsidies to the farmer to dig under their crops to maintain prices?Where in the Constitution does it say the gov't has to bail out Chrysler and Lockheed when the little shopkeeper goes bankrupt?

Re: "Where in the Constitution does it say that I have to give my money ... for socialist programs?"

I find it interesting that the Republicans aren't talking about scaling back so-called socialist programs; they're talking about expanding them. A lot of right-wingers who hang out in Silicon Investorville refuse to acknowledge this fact.

1. Drug benefits for senior citizens.

2. Shoring up Social Security.

3. Shoring up Medicare.

4. Expanding health-care coverage to all children.

The social agenda of both parties is similar. They only differ in the details and in amounts of money to fund these programs.

If you want the government to collapse oppose taxes.
We already have the lowest in the western world or anywhere but tax havens. Move to the Bahamas or Caymans if you hate taxes so much. Nobody likes taxes but the problem with the recent GOP administrations is that they lower taxes, leave us with colossal debts and let their cronies fleece us in the process (S+L's, energy gouging, defense boondoggles) all in the name of smaller government. Sure it's smaller if you transfer its wealth to your fat cat cronies. But why would that help anyone but the fat cat cronies? Wake up. The average guy always gets screwed in this lower tax schemes. The US is already the #1 tax haven in the world. And the rich here have it easy. Now middle-class tax relief that's something to fight for. But probably won't happen because leaders like Bush-Cheney only represent the rich. So you get screwed either way.
