JB ... guess I'm really slow on the uptake this morning .... you say >>>> Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > General Tab > Click items as follows on the WinMe that I have on this box ... when I go to Tools danged if I see anything that will let me change to a single clik .... and the hourglass dealie ... again, on this copy of WinMe I have ... the mouse pointer will change the stuff ok, BUT I still can't make the normal pointer (hand) turn into an hourglass when it is going to find ..... as in busy ... the pointer remains a pointer and I have to engage the status bar down at the bottom of the screen to see if it is indeed going to seek OR just didn't get my clik ....as opposed to the five other boxes I have running 98SE which give me and hourglass when seeking .... the pointer/hand turns into an hourglass to tell me it is looking and busy .... sorry for being so obtuse .... gggg
