Speaking of which, I am told the motherboard that Anand used, the ECS K7S5A, uses the SiS 735, which is supposed to offer a good amount of performance over the Gigabyte GA-7DX used by Tech Report (includes AMD760 Northbridge and VIA Southbridge), and the MSI MS-6341 (also AMD760) used by Tom's Hardware. Different motherboards using the same chipset can vary as much as 5%, I've found. But using a completely new chipset can explain why Anand was getting some very favorable scores for the Athlon.
