Jim, the ECB hasn't been as agressive as the US in cutting interest rates. I think they've cut rates only one time this year...a quarter point cut. Consensus opinion is that they will cut another quarter point this Thurs.

The US GDP report on Wed. is more critical. Our market needs a confirmation rally to make Friday's move a new trend. Without another rally, April lows will be tested.
The GDP report could end up being the deciding factor.

Semis are providing leadership in spite of negative developments; for example, today the market ignored Toshiba's news. The Sox closed within spitting distance from its 200 day MA.
