I could use some advice from the thread. I stopped at the Hair Cuttery after lunch. The woman who cut my hair, whom I did not know, commented that my hair color was lovely as she seated me for a wash. With her accent, I wasn't sure I heard her correctly so I asked her to repeat it. She said that my hair was a lovely color. Not orange or green. While she was scrubbing my head, I had a chance to reflect on what she had said. I have seen green hair on St. Patrick's day. And I've seen orange hair that looked like a bad dye job. I, personally, never considered either. When one is in the process of growing old gracefully, there comes a point when one should be writing "gray" in the hair color box on the form for a driver's license rather than "blonde" or "brown." But it's hard to tell just when that point might be when the evidence is sitting atop one's own head. I have interpreted her comment to mean that I've reached that point. I assume she was saying that sometimes gray hair has an orangy or greenish cast to it and that mine doesn't. Do you think that's the correct conclusion to reach? Karen
