No, the stocks can remain rangebound, frustrating the longs and shorts, getting nowhere. It could remain that way for years. Stock pickers who can look at valuations, see who has the competitive advantage, watch the macro-economic environment and have time on their side will win. Those who are around 50 years old and up, still buying the has beens will be working 7 days a week for years instead of retiring to a life of leisure. They'll seek to blame others for their plight but in the end they know it was their own stupidity and greed that brought on their own economic poverty. Sad, but there are many who still cannot see the light and cannot accept help when they clearly need it.
