Jim, it is believed that an IMF report coming out in November is lowering GDP forecasts for most of the world, but not the US.

GDP forecast for the United States is left unchanged at 1.5 percent for 2001 and 2.5 percent for 2002.

For the euro zone, the IMF cut its 2001 GDP growth forecast to 2.0 percent from 2.4 percent and for 2002, GDP was forecast to grow 2.4 percent, down from a previous estimate of 2.8 percent.

Japan's GDP growth forecast are to be cut the most, falling to 0.2 percent in 2001 from 0.6 percent, and slipping to 0.5 percent in 2002 from a previously forecast 1.5 percent.
