Demirats screwed up Ca's energy market beyond recognition.

Today we received news that the California Public Utility Commission is considering establishing a moratorium on Direct Access contracts past July 1, 2001. This would render the Enron offer void. To further confuse the situation, the California General Assembly is proposing
that Sept. 1, 2001 be established as the final Direct Access contract date. The intent is obvious; California is trying to keep retail customers from leaving the utility systems. The utility rates reflect market prices from earlier this year including the state's long-term purchase of electricity at prices nearly double current market prices

Demirats run the ASSembly here. AS*holes good buddies.
