There is a society wide fascination with death. Look at the people in Seattle urging that woman to jump yesterday. Look at the suicide rates.

Smoking, drinking, drug useage, is there a program in our heads egging us do do self destructive things? Is it a script society is writing for us or is it in our genes?

If I can find a reference to where a small subset of straight people knowingly
do similar life threatening actions, would you think that all straight people are
insane, or just that small subset?

Jonestown.

Jorj,

I was not inferring that all gays are insane because of the actions of those few fools. Sorry if that is what you felt I was doing.

My take was that it's a small minority of gays who are trying to prove themselves queer enough, so to speak. They're still iffy on getting AIDS so in the say 3 on 3, only 1 of the 3 doing the action is infected so they have a 1/3 chance of receiving the "gift". Part of the game is AIDS infected are living 20 years now with the new drugs and not kicking off in 2 years. Of course they want you to pay for their treatment.
