My account is a total mess. I've lost over 80% of my Jan 00 portfolio.I totally freaked out, sold at the wrong time, day traded which I know absolutely NOTHING about, etc etc and so forth. Right now I have some Certificates of Deposit, some Motorola bonds, some Wasatch, Oakmark Select and Clipper mutual funds (just bought recently) and some cash.
I have no individual stocks...well 10 shares of tyc, that's about it.
Someday I'll try again but not yet. Trying to decide if getting into Dell when it gets back to the teens is a good idea. Probably is. Have you seen how much money Apple has pershare? (Lots). Does that count for future profits?
Who knows.
Good luck to you, and all of us.
I was one of those "spoiled brats" you talked about to Jim Wooley. I had three times my goal and instead of cashing it in like I had intended to do, I decided I wanted to race someone for reaching a higher amount.
Stupid and greedy. I'm lucky I have anything left.

I'm writing a book about it all...especially the emotional part.
