What do you think of Phelps Dodge as a candidate for "the shopping list" for Oct/Nov? Any other copper producers listed in the US you think are worth doing some initial DD on? TIA

Hi MetalTrader,
The Ford dividend is certainly appealing if I thought it had legs.
That's what I'm looking for, opinions.

I'm trying to build up portfolio structures for the 'near' future depending upon:
1) we crash in the fall,a recovery appears to be in the works, and people want stocks.
2) we crash in the fall,a recovery appears to be in the works, people don't care about stocks. (It's happened before)
3) we crash and go down for the count..........
4) pick'em

I find it a little difficult looking at historical comps since the spin off of Visteon,
One reason I'm looking for opinions. However as the saying goes... History does not repeat itself, but it rhymes. I'm just trying to get the verse right.

I'm figuring half the payout of today going forward and when that announcement comes there may be some yield investors looking elsewhere
Granted and I'm trying to cover the bases. I've only given F a cursory look over. I haven't matched share price to dividend or even it's share performance over that time relative to the market etc. etc. As you say though the dividend is appealing so it made the list of possibles based on the current and past dividends given that over the last 45 years we've seen quite a range of market conditions. F is really just a model for one type of stock I'm researching at this point.

Thanks for the input.
