A bit early for that to kick in, don't you think?

I would question whether tax loss selling will be that bad this year. In a down year, tax loss selling often makes no sense, because you can only take as many losses as gains. If there are no gains, or limited gains, there is limited incentive to sell for tax losses.

Of course, it's been so long since we've had a real down year that many people have forgotten that basic fact.

Tech funds have no incentive to sell for tax reasons. They have NO gains, so nothing to offset. Value funds were not in Oracle. Some mixed diversified funds may be in a good position to make some sales, but those may be a lot more limited than many people believe.
