I think it will affect the US Economy tremendously. The bubble areas are the areas that have spurred the artificial growth from 1995-2000.

The dual wealth affect from housing and stocks will wreak havoc on personal finances as 2nd mortgages and equity capital gains become less and less prevalent.

Indeed, the consumer is "tapped" out.
