No, that's not what I meant; what I had in mind was frequent system crashes that leave systems in an indeterminate state, which then results in yet further errors.

And I believe you have mischaracterised the Sun memory problem, too. It happened so rarely that nobody knew what the problem was -- intermittent faults are the hardest to find. People were rightly concerned to see their systems crashing monthly, but you can hardly compare that with peecees. And you don't need to go further than the antitrust trial findings of fact to see how Microsoft views their customers.
