Sounds good, but the reality is that the people who advocate this are no different than the rest of us. The bumper stickers on their SUV's express this or similar sentiments but they consume just as much as the rest of us. Short of government sanctions or higher prices, this is not going to happen. When Oil Prices were truly high (relative to inflation) we saw a lot of conservation. I remember people lowering temp in their homes and buying wood stoves and snuggle blankets and small cars were at a premium. The only thing short of government edict which will bring conservation is high prices. But of course we all know that (according to you) the price is totally mannipulated by big oil and Bush. So I guess oil companies and Bush are the real conservationists. Sorry, couldn't resist the last comment.
