He did also discuss the debt Americans are in...FWIW...and that is what causes recessions in my opinion. People spending or investing money they do not have and cannot pay back when things turn sour. The market in fact does play a huge part in the forming of a recession. Wealth lost trickles down to all. Think about all the people borrowing money to buy houses, boats, cars, etc...based on their holdings in the market.

The difference between a recession and a depression is psychology. Excessive negative psychology during a recession will cause a depression IMO.

Reminder for all; we are still not even in a recession. Not even 1 single quarter of negative GDP.
