I'm speaking primarily of polluting emissions reduction. Germany for instance is reducing harmful emissions 21% and reports not one lost job in the process. Other European countries are following suit. Bush meanwhile not only rejects the Kyoto treaty entirely but has not offered any alternatives or any targets. Why? Because the truth is he wants to get away with as much pollution as he can get away with politically but he doesn't want to discuss it until he knows he can get away with it. And then of course his people will try to find a way to put a positive spin on more pollution. Germany is also fast-developing cleaner alternative fuels including hydrogen which could leave the Bush-Cheney energy plans in the dust.
