I like that description. My grandmother always called that charitability of spirit 'grace'. It's a term I love.

The best way I can say it is that optimists are charitable in spirit.

If you have "optimistic" on your list because it implies charitable in spirit, I'd suggest you just replace it with that phrase. Or "grace." Or perhaps "constructive," a personal favorite of mine.

I struggle to label everyone who isn't an optimist as a bad person. Perhaps such people are just depressed or down on their luck. Not much fun to be around, but not "bad." You might also consider putting that on your second list, the list of characteristics of people you like being around.
