Actually, Rambi, I said it was the inhibition of action or reaction (specifically, the suppression of your first impulse). That's why it is passive (IMO). You really don't have to DO anything, all you have to "do" is NOT DO the thing we tend to do (which is act or react).

Humans always want to DO something. Intolerance (as I meant it), is exhibited by DOING the thing that we have an impulse to do. If someone is very religious (I'm prejudiced against them for a variety of reasons), my impulse is to turn away from them (the action). The "passive" part is to NOT turn away. Do you see what I mean? It's convoluted because it isn't passive inside, only the external manifestation. I think it holds together if you look at the RESULTS.
