<font color=orange>:Hewlett-Packard to acquire Compaq--WSJ (CPQ, HWP) By Allen Wan
Hewlett-Packard (HWP) has agreed to acquire Compaq Computer (CPQ) in an all-stock deal worth about $26 billion,
the Wall Street Journal reported in its online edition, citing people familiar with the matter. The boards of both computer giants have approved the deal and an announcement is expected Tuesday. Compaq is the world's second biggest maker of personal computers, while H-P is third biggest. Under the terms of the deal, H-P will swap about 0.63 of its shares for each share of Compaq. Compaq shareholders wil only get a modest premium of about 19 percent for their stock.
