Robert: Do you know if Dynamic disk support will allow the mounting of a disk volume as a directory entry within the directory tree (something that is done in UNIX).

I cannot say for sure, but I would assume so. One of the major selling points of "Dynamic Disk Support" is that the volume and directory structure is completely separate from the physical disk.

I know for certain that you can combine multiple physical hard drives as one volume ("drive").

For example I would like to have c:\MyDir actually point to drive "D"

Isn't this also possible in DOS (and Windows)? I seem to recall a config.sys parameter for mapping drives to arbitrary directories. I once used this to fool a program into believing that some directory was actually a CDROM drive. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the commands any more :(
