I say give me liberty or give me bonds, but never give me liberty bonds. It's a contrajection in terms.

Today's lesson in grammer. Is the proper expression,

"Is it she and me?"

"Is it her and I?"

"Is it she and I?"

"Is it her and me?"

Are it her and I?

The answer?

It's Are they she and I?

Why? She and I is a plural subject. You would not say She and I is it. So, you say "She and I are it." But, of course you cannot say it either, as it must be plural to agree with the plural subject as the verb are is copula. The plural of it is they, so the correct expression is:

"Are they she and I?"

But what if you mean that the combined subject constitutes a unit? Then you must use a conjunctive expression such as It comprises she and I (Comprises is the one verb in the English language that replaces a passive prepositional phrase, i.e. "is made of".) You could also say "She and I become it." So, it should be ok to say, Comprises it, she and I? or Become it, she and I??

Necessity hath no law.

Oliver Cromwell

(except that one)

Me

The law has little necessity of right.

What is necessary is alway somewhat evil.

What is unecessary is always totally evil, as to do it, one must neglect some thing necessary to a better purpose.

Necessity is a dog that always chases freedom from your door.

The law of what is necessary is dictated by nature's economic tyranny. She demands at each moment the cost of survival be added to the price of fulfilling man's desires.

Though not in any hurry, nature cuts every corner and bids you follow her path.

Though the landscape of need may only be journeyed step by step, it is the shortest route to any destination. Though infinite in bound beyond all goals, there is always a route to reach any point in the land of need. We did not say it was possible, but there is a route.

If you travel in the land of the possible, you may find the Im tribe camped with the Not and the Barely, who move about from time to time. Just about everywhere you go in the land of the possible it is very tiring and generally a waste of time. If you move over to the probable, it is much easier going and there the Im's are much more active, earning medals just for getting out of bed. The Nots occasionally get out and about but get lost alot. What is surprising is that in the land of the impossible where the Ims come from, it is easy as hell to travel. That is because if you don't know that it is impossible to actually get anywhere it always seems that you are making progress. The reason is that in the impossible land, it is a condition of it that it does not seem that way. If it seemed impossible, the land would would not exist. It really would be impossible. In the end it doesn't matter, as there is no point in stopping anywhere anyway. Savoring can only be for a short while and as in all virtual landscapes every task involves another goal. (The act of savouring involves travelling to Savourville and we are at it again.)

One thing that most people don't realize is that the terrorists already have what they wanted. All they wanted was a "Holy War". It doesn't really matter to them who wins the war. Winning is not the point. They must fight the war.

We will wind up giving them their war. The powers that be will not allow them to shut down the airlines. The airlines are vital to the world's economy. The example will have to be made.

Nothing strikes terror like nuclear weapons. The U.S. could accomplish everything with conventional weapons, but they will not. They will want to display the most horrific example that they can. If they had a more terrifying weapon, then they would use it. They want everyone to see the horror of the mushroom cloud.

I feel sad. I think this will turn out to be more horrible that most of us have yet imagined. An example will be made. Probably it will be made out of Afghanistan. I will bet that at least a million innocent lives will be lost. This nightmare is just beginning.

I just spoke like I knew for sure what would happen. But I don't. It just seems to be the logical progression of events.
