Thread,
After rereading the Chambers piece, winners and losers in tech will be determined under new rules going forward. Used to be the shareholders of purchased companies would benefit directly by m&a. Not so with compaq. The winners will be the 50 of the naz 100 that remain standing AND perform. Thats why HP was bashed yesterday. There aint much confidence in them. But Dell on the other hand could prosper as they gobble up gateway/ibm,pc division?? Cisco should do well as they buy up companies as rumored??? AMAT will always do well in this scenario as should some others. But if one is an investor in naz 100 cos, it becomes incumbant on the investor to get one of the 50 survivors and then those of the 50 that will lead. mike

If Techs go thru a massive consolidation like Banks did last decade there might be good candidates likely to be acquired. Anybody have any ideas on which companies are likely takeover candidates?
