The government is the principal means by which society pursues justice. That makes it morally unique. It legislates, it executes the laws, and it adjudicates disputes, both under criminal and civil law.

Society is a group of individuals. If i chose to pursue justice another way I would not be morally unique I would just be called a vigilante. Practicaly the government is unique and has a special status. Morally it does not IMO.

if the issue were forced, I believe they would amend the Constitution rather than severely curtail federal prerogatives.

I'd pay money to watch that debate.

That makes it morally unique. What makes government morally unique is that we give it a monopoly on the use of violent force. This is what gives it the power to enforce our rights. This is what gives it the power to enslave us. It is LITERALLY a two edged sword.

We live in an age where ONLY the promise of government is dwelt on. The danger is COMPLETELY ignored. Worse than that, anyone who raises a red flag about the danger is relegated by the elite media and governing classes to kook and crank status. Their view is actively censored.

Well I am proud to be in the kook and crank status. There is good company. I occupy the same position as the Founders of this country. They understood the danger. They warned us about the danger. Then did a superhuman job of protecting us from the danger. We are ignoring them. Or freedom is in peril.

Freedom is a moral issue.
