The ATMs run some form of Intel architecture, though the specific motherboard and processor in use varies depending on the age of the machine. They run NT4.0 and IE5.?.

I'll be seeing the guy who runs the whole show this evening. It sounds to me like either a software upgrade screwed up and took down all the ATMs or a network problem of some sort. The ATMs are generally easy to revert back to previous versions with a simple command over the network, so I'm guessing it was not a software or ATM hardware problem.
