What do you thing of these thoughts? I know you fear a repeat of the 30's folly of carrying a big surplus down into a deflationary depression, but it seems there are three options.

1. Tax rate cuts - Best
2. New ongoing spending - Absolute worst
3. Pay down debt principle. (??)

I need to think about 3 more. It's not the most pro-growth option but is it a disaster? I don't think this is deflationary. You are returning cash to the private sector, this cash doesn't disappear, it's more likely reinvested than spent.

Kenny: You've been reading too many Grim Fairy Tales. You're also too caught up in blame game/name-calling/bashing. I'm in search of solutions. Like it or not, this is now Dubya's economy. Has been since his tax cut went through. Dow down nearly another 200 points today. Where's it going to end? 7,000 Dow and 1,000 Naz? It's obvious the street doesn't have much confidence in this government. We could easily see a Democratic landslide in '02 and '04 unless this administration starts showing some leadership.

Proof's in the pudding, pal. I was born and reared in Missouri. Show me some results instead of spinning your Clinton bear market fairytales.
