No one ever created a healthy economy by raising taxes. Even when Democrats are in power, they soon lose because they cannot seem to learn that lesson (witness 1980, 1994, 2000). The Democrat "plan" today is the same as it's always been: tax and spend. The difference today is that none of them will publicly admit to the "tax" part, preferring instead to look like a deer in the headlights when cornered on TV.

The Clinton tax increase caused the current economic situation. The Democrats following in his wake were accomplices, and will suffer accordingly in 2002 and 2004...

Yes it is my understanding that the tax cut this year amounts to 40 million dollar and there is still at least a 150 million surplus so the tax rebates should have been 1000 and 2000 dollars as Checks from President Bush.

Now that would stimulate the economy.
