That seems to me to be the sensible way to look at it. By the way, I do find it interesting, and somewhat comforting, that the prayer teams in most of these were not only ecumenical, but inter- religious......

No. That is an imaginative theory which is complex in the most sleepy and inventive way. Occam's razor does not even have to look at such ridiculous nonsense. All of us are aware of the inability of prayer to kick us ahead! WE have all tried it. We have all found it to be the hobgoblin of frightened little minds.

My example is crude: But who would fight my knife with a prayer only?? I would easily kill every human being on the face of the earth. Mumbling does not prevent the blade. To conjecture about a greater power is rather commendable. But stupid is as stupid does...
