All of us are aware of the inability of prayer to kick us ahead! WE
have all tried it. We have all found it to be the hobgoblin of frightened little
minds.

That's not up to your usual standards.

Not all have found it to be the hobgoblin of frightened little minds. Some have found it to be quite otherwise. The studies that were cited in the many posts in the thread found strong indications otherwise, on a quite scientific basis.

Many have tried to write the Great American Novel. Almost all have failed. That doesn't mean it can't be written, just that those who tried it couldn't.

I'm not surprised that prayer doesn't work for you, since you obviously don't believe in its efficacy. But when you generalize your experience to "all people" you let your emotions overcome your reason. Which is unusual for you. You must have stronger anti-religious feelings than I had realized.
