PS - by tailgated I assume you mean struck from behind. Not followed to closely

The normal definition for tailgating is following to closely. Normally people follow a bit too closely but if you drive slowly they get right on top of you. That's what I was refering to. Karen may have exagerated when she says you have to drive 80. As long as you are not in the fast lane 75 or even 70 might be enough to avoid most tailgateing. Some of it is going to happen at any speed (unless you drive so fast that most cars can't keep up with you).
