We have had plenty of weeks where the temperature has been over 100 for several days.........and all across
Ca.

That's normal. Except it's normal for the largest part of the summer. Except this summer.
Lots of days and weeks have been cool. People have actually worn coats in the evening.
And THAT'S NOT NORMAL!

I was down in Palm Springs last week. Normally at this time of year there, the high each day is over 110, often over 115. The high last week was 108. Several days had highs below 104. And this is the hottest area of the state. Death Valley is not far away.

If the weather isn't unusually cool, why do all the news reports about "no blackouts" say it is?

Either
(a) you don't live in CA and have no idea what is going on, or
(b) you're out of it, or
(c) you are so determined to push your political agenda that you refuse to recognize reality.

I am sure that we would have had many more blackouts had Jeffords not defected. It is more than a coincidence.
Take your meds. You'll feel better.
