Do you remember when the Ayotollah came to power? When there were hateful shirts with his picture on them. And many Arabs (from all sorts of places) were called names simply for being Arab or Moslem? We can smile at people on the street who may be of Arab lineage. Think how they will feel. I am sure they will be afraid they will be blamed and scapegoated. There is a little boy from Afghanistan in my daughter's class- he is her friend. I am going to make sure I tell her to play with him when she goes back to school on Weds.
