I am certain of it that we will succeed in surviving and continue to be a country of freedom and opportunity. What has changed, is how we are going to defend this aim. The reality of human nature, given the status of current events, tells me that will not be pretty, indeed our freedoms may be somehow compromised.I harbor no warm fuzzballs for the guilty scuzzballs. I am sure you do not.But I know, in times like these, how we act under stress counts, too. I understand and I agree. But believe me, this has changed the world as we knew it. I say this without stress. The families touched by this will need our very best efforts to get through the pain and grief. That, and my concern for innocents, was what I tried to express. I understood your intent. As well, it preserves what we have as a nation.... heart. Without that, we could easily act on suicidal missions, because there'd be damn little left worth protecting No, this country will not turn to such low level of savagery. The idea, the concept that this country represents and has inpired many to build it will continue. It will continue because it lives in our minds. Contrary to terrorism we have a mentality to BUILD not to DESTROY. Anyone who believes that will be able to build anything based on terrorist attacks, has no idea of what it takes to build. It is far easier to destroy than it is to build. Building takes a lifetime, terrorism simply destroys. Take this event... they must have planned very carefully, for a long period of time and well executed. The result is total destruction, not only in their acts, but in what will come to them, those around them and those who supported this. They will be found. What have they accomplished ? Is the world going to be less hungry, or less overpopulated, or less poor. I doubt it. On the contrary, the third world will become worse. The people of this country did not cause this. Most importantly the people of this country will continue to build and rebuild. Unfortunately, the cost of the freedom that allow us to do that has become more expensive.
