Leadership? I'm the last person who should be in any kind of leadership position right now. If I were President, I know very well what I'd be doing right now, and likely regretting much of it a week from now. Nukes are right out, though.

Enough of my shock has subsided (but not a bit of my anger), that I'm thinking more along the lines of eradication of each and every person who has committed any terrorist act against this country, but I'm cooling on the idea of taking out innocents in retaliation. I suppose, even in anger, there are certain "bad" things that we simply should never do. Taking the high road and all that stuff.

I'm woefully undereducated about the rest of the world (like so many Americans, I don't see past my own nose very well) and will work on correcting that now. I want to find out why we are hated so vehemently and by whom.

Getting back to the notion of showing leadership, I'm just another user here. If I were still SI Admin (Bob) (despite the fact I still consider myself "SI Bob"), I'm sure I'd be sitting here weighing each and every word carefully as I usually do. I can't imagine for the life of me what I'd be saying, though. I'm a "leader" of a certain kind, but not one of the calibre needed to deal with this. Like most people, I can only look toward our President and hope that almost half <g> of us chose wisely. Currently, I'm "just a person", and reacting on a personal level.

But in the big picture, this is a microcosm. One which has little impact on what will and won't happen in the aftermath. If chaos ensues here, what of it?

Your admonishment is well-taken but I believe it's quite misplaced.

PS. Am I the only one wishing Colin Powell were our President right now? I didn't hear Bush's speech, so have no idea how he came across.

PPS. Fed going to increase money supply now? Don't even get me started on the Fed.
