You don't think the US has any responsibility with respect to the people who just happen to be in power in Afghanistan right now? Perhaps you're the one who should wake up. So we fought this nifty little war to get rid of the evil communists, and somehow people who are much worse ended up in power, but that's not our fault, right? Whose fault is it, perchance?

It's easy to blame it all on mad terrorists, they're inhuman so who cares if we kill a bunch more people in retaliation. It's a little more complicated if you look at how things came to be as they are. If you think more killing or another war will solve the problem, well, perhaps that's another issue that you might want to wake up on.
