I think you are wrong. It is a religious issue. Extremists philosophy is at the root of the evil we witnessed yesterday. Intolerance of others beliefs is unAmerican but you must draw the line when the teachings of a group include the justification of terrorism. Not to mention their medieval enslavement of their women. Muslim fundamentalism must end. It is a force in this world that is inherently at odds with our principles of liberty & freedom. Muslim fundamentalism is too dangerous to ignore.
