I'll say this before you go on IGNORE. Did all the folks in Germany elect Hitler? Of course there are Afghanis who suffer. And Jordanians and Iraqis. What can the US do about that? Will they suffer less if terrorism becomes even more emboldened? Will we?

But WTH, everything is over now. . . You don't mind getting on that jet to LAX, do you? Such a brave fellow.

IGNORE

I don't like the idea of massive civilian casualties either. I have been to Dresden, and what happened there must have been unimaginably awful. War is unimaginably awful.

Dresden is not the best example because it was probably, in retrospect, unnecessary to the victory. But where the people are being used as shields, and the destruction being caused by the perpetrators is this horrific, then what choice do you have? The choice may be, allow this to continue to flourish, or accept reluctantly the fact that more innocent people will die in the short run to hopefully prevent this from happening again in the longer run.

The Taliban may not be so brave when the skies open up night after night, day after day.

.exe,

Please feel free to post your opinions but not in that manner. We all like Diana and she has as much right to her views as you do. Just leave off the "idiots" etc. next time

thanks,

exeric2,
I don't agree with everything that Diana has said, or necessarily everything that all of my other friends on this thread have said. We often don't agree on everything. However, we always show respect for each other. If you want to post on this thread, please change your tone.
