Earlie,

I did not know Bill Meehan personally, of course, but I exchanged a few messages with him, and kept a lookout for whenever he was scheduled on some TV show.

He was one of only two or three financial people that I cared much about. I am sure that you told his family that he had a lot of friends and admirers.

I am waiting for word to filter back to me about other people. Pretty sure one or two college classmates must have been working there. All last year my daughter was spending a lot of time in lower Manhattan. A few days ago I was quite disturbed that she was in Amsterdam with passport, cards, etc. all stolen, but that looks like a better place to be now.

I expect that Gretchen Morgenson will have (or already has had) something to say. Haven't seen today's NY Times.

You must know a number of other people who might also have been lost.

Earlie, that is terrible news. I was holding out hope that he was doing an interview or calling on a client somewhere else.

I also had queasy feelings about you being gone and the fact that you have done some work for Cantor in the past. I'm glad you are o.k.

Earlie, I'm so sorry. Until now, many here and on MB's thread had been hoping against hope ...

My condolences to his family, and to all of you who knew him personally.
